The Gaza Envelope region was constructed with military-agricultural frontier settlements along the Gaza border. Farming in this area, once carried out by Israeli farmers and later by Palestinian workers from Gaza, has in recent decades become reliant on Thai migrant labor. The project explores the lives of a group of five Thai farmers working these border fields from 2021 up to the current war, during which two of them were killed. The films illuminate concepts of territory and land, from the Israel-Gaza border to the borders between Laos and Thailand, the deep water threshold of our world with the underworld where tales of Naga, the king of snakes, are repeated and readopted for centuries.
